Tulsa has an interesting history. Many of the places that figure in our history are still standing. Here is a look at some of these places then and now.

Looking North at 15th and Boston

Very interesting. Boston Ave Methodist Church is visible. The Tulsa Law building (or whatever they call it) used to be a store. It looks like a bustling scene with lots of traffic, both vehicles and people on foot.
I believe on that Corner there was a very famous flower shop Ms. DeHaven's or something like that. They always had the most beautiful window displays. I use to take my daughter there at Christmas time to look at their window.
When my daughter finished school, we moved to a small apartment right behind the flower shop across the alley. We could see the church lite up at night, and there were the most interesting little house around that neighborhood. It was a very nice neighborhood with old two story houses and aparment houses.
I wrote the above story...Ms. DeHaven's was the elite flower shop in Tulsa years ago. I had never gone inside the shop however, I did check out the window displays which were amazing. Living on the corner of 15th and Boston,it was like living in the heart of down town. The church peeked up between the trees, it was peaceful passing shops at night while walking my dog. During the day it was a busy area, with city buses driving past, lots of traffic, people walking around. The Horace Mann Correctional Institute was just a couple of blocks down the street. Housed in my old junior high school building. I loved that neighborhood.
